Why I Became a Certified Aromatherapist & Why Should You!

These days many enthusiasts come to me for consultation and advice on becoming an aromatherapist!

Most of them ask me a common question, that why I chose to become a certified aromatherapist in the first place!!

Now, I've decided to share my personal experience, so that it might help others take the necessary steps for pursuing an aromatherapy career!!!

It all started a decade ago when after finishing my year 12 at the high school, I wanted to take a course at the university, yet craved to study something unique. Even then I loved herbs and flowers and desired to study natural medicine . Once, I read about aromatherapy over the internet and it automatically aroused my curiosity. I have always been interested in naturopathic course and aromatherapy really fascinated me.

So, I started browsing the internet and studying aromatherapy on my own. After going through some natural medicine and naturopathy course forums, I realized that I needed to get at least a certificate in aromatherapy in order to practice it professionally. Therefore, I started searching for different aromatherapy courses that would help me become a certified aromatherapist and skillful to help others benefit from the aromatherapy.

My quest ended in 2005 at the Paramount Naturopathy College, where I found a perfect certificate course, almost customized for me. It’s a short and sweet course, just 16 weeks, and yet offers all the necessary theoretical as well as practical knowledge as a degree course would do.

What I liked about the program at the Paramount Naturopathy College was the array of electives offered and the compulsory 100 log book hours, that provided me the much needed clinical experience one needs to have prior to starting his own professional practice.

Paramount College of Natural Medicine is the best place for anyone who is either looking to take up an aromatherapy course and or even wants to pursue a naturopathy degree in Perth.

Now, after spending more than 7 years as a professional aromatherapist, I’d say it has been both personally as well as financially rewarding!!!

First of all we would like to thank everyone who made Paramount College’s much anticipated French learning experience a big success. Everyone including the students, teachers, support staff as well as the ones who morally supported the expedition have contributed in the triumph.

Following the success and rich experience of the French learning adventure in September-October 2013, Paramount Naturopathy College is excited to announce its next France expedition in February, 2014. And, we have already started inviting expressions of interest for the same.

To further extend the students’ experience, we’ve added some new natural medicine courses and subjects to the programs. Students can undertake any one of the following combinations of naturopathy courses:

  • An Introduction to Natural Medicine: Natural Health Philosophy (NHP) and Herbal Medicine 1 (HM1)
  • Global Perspectives in Nutrition: Biodiversity and Sustainable Agriculture (BA) and Food Philosophy (FP)

However depending on the level of interest, only two of these options will be running and the number of intakes are strictly limited.

The French learning experience is a part of the online naturopathy course that begins in December 2013, followed by a two weeks intensive face to face study in France in February 2014. And, the final assessments will be done online after the students return to Australia.

The feedback of the students and staff that went to France last time was extremely positive and encouraging.
